Newent Community Link: Regular Service
Operated by Newent Community Transport and part of the Sheppard House group of organisations, it operates like a regular bus service.
The service runs between 9am and 5pm Mon – Fri excluding bank holidays.
Clifford’s Mesne is serviced by two of the Newent Community Link buses but please click through to route and select the timetable (if we posted it here it would soon be out of date) :
The Robin: Bookable on-demand bus
The Robin is a flexible, on-demand bus service designed to connect rural communities like ours with essential services and onward transport. Unlike regular bus routes, The Robin doesn’t follow a set timetable—instead, you book your journey in advance and the bus comes to you. Kind of a hybrid bus/taxi service.
It’s ideal for getting to local towns, medical appointments, shopping trips, or connecting to other public transport. The service runs Monday to Saturday and can be booked via the website, mobile app, or by phone. Find out more or make a booking:

The Daffodil Line: Does not call at Clifford’s Mesne, but…
A community-led bus service, this doesn’t call at Clifford’s Mesne. It does call at Newent and is by all accounts a pleasant way of travelling around the Golden Triangle of Newent, Ledbury and Ross (and the pretty villages in between). Find out more on the Daffodil Line’s website.
Stagecoach:
Contrary to Google’s new AI search results, Stagecoach does not run a service to Clifford’s Mesne. There is also no mention on their website, www.stagecoachbus.com, of cliffords, clifford’s nor mesne.
It does have an hourly service (currently no. 32) running between Gloucester Transport Hub and Newent via Highnam. Please check the website for up to date info.
