Celebrate St David's Day

10.45am Sunday 1st March 2026, St Peter’s Church, Clifford’s Mesne

Saint David (“Dewi Sant”), the patron saint of Wales, is remembered for his simple life and enduring wisdom. This service has a Welsh theme and will include Welsh cakes and refreshments.

Saint David (Dewi Sant) lived in the 6th century in what is now called St David’s – Britain’s smallest city, in Pembrokeshire. It’s also his final resting place. He was known for:

  • A simple, disciplined monastic life

  • Teaching and founding religious communities

  • His famous last words: “Do the little things” which continue to resonate today

  • The leek as his emblem (worn by Welsh soldiers to identify themselves)

His feast day, 1st March, is celebrated across Wales and in Welsh communities worldwide and we enjoy marking it here too.

This short morning service is a chance to gather, reflect, and mark his feast day together.

Supporting St Peter’s: The church is an historic part of our village community and relies on voluntary support for its upkeep. If you would like to contribute towards ongoing maintenance, particularly the current roof repairs, donations are warmly and gratefully welcomed.
