Poll Invitation

In this poll link we are asking for readers’ views on proposed changes to eyesight testing and driving licence renewal rules.

These proposals (under consideration by the Department for Transport) may introduce compulsory eyesight testing from age 70 to replace the current self-declaration system on licence renewals.

They also highlight the importance of good vision for safe driving.

What is the ODF?

The Older Drivers Forum in Gloucestershire is a voluntary organisation supporting mature drivers — helping them drive safely for longer and advising families and carers concerned about older drivers.

It is a not-for-profit volunteer group offering practical advice and resources for older motorists — from webinars and presentations to free toolkits on safe driving, retirement planning, and understanding eyesight/medical issues related to driving.

They operate under the charitable status of the Gloucestershire Older Persons Association (Charity No. 1124977).
